Thank you for sharing your story. Like you, I suffer from lifelong mental illness and have been medicated for over 30 years, to much ‘success’ (if you know, you know). But it’s only been recently that I feel the missing link for all of us - those who have chronic mental health issues or those who experience intermittent issues or just have bad days now and again - is social connection. On one hand we have therapists and medication and doctors and on the other end we have self-care and meditation and yoga…but the missing link is the middle: social connection and care. Those who are part of our daily lives. We have grown more isolated over the last 30 years - partly due to technical advances but mostly due to technology (smart phones) Not to say phones and technology are bad, but we need to remember that each of us needs each other and human connection to thrive.

I hope you find peace and comfort.
