Excellent read. I’d like to recommend a book (and possibly a teacher training) called ‘Showing Up’ by Jen Marr. It is all about human connection and care and how, what used to be innate for millennia, is now something that actually needs to be taught (and not just to our students, but for all of us) Why? A host of reasons. But the biggest change has been smart phones and technology- it’s made us more isolated. And, especially in younger generations who have only known the current technology, we seem to have lost the ability to converse, hold eye contact, be bored, or make small talk.

I am one of many Certified Trainers with www.inspiring comfort.com where I teach the Showing Up training to corporate leaders - this phenomenon is not only needed in schools! But the good news is, the tools are not difficult to learn and are quite impactful. The one thing we can control in reducing our isolation is to learn to authentically reconnect as human beings with another.
