As a Biden supporter I need to share my view -

I do not watch any news and stay away from the noise as much as possible. So it was brutally difficult for me to watch the debate live. I had no idea he was that bad. I truly thought all the noise came from the other side’s hatred and selection of the most unflattering clips of Biden they could find to keep their narrative alive. But in the first 10 minutes of the debate I had an utter and shocking feeling of sadness and anger. Not anger at the other side - anger at Biden’s advisers for putting him through a week of prep and lying to the public about his state. And somehow thinking they could cram enough data into his head to ‘make him perform’ But mostly I’m angry at his family - those who supposedly love him the most - for allowing him to be up there. The word in my head was simply ‘elder abuse.’ My grandfather suffered from Alzheimer’s and my step dad has early dementia right now. The signs are obvious when you know what you’re looking at. I’m angry that the Democrats did not push much earlier in the campaign to select a different candidate and now angry at everyone who laughs, who says inappropriate and rude things about Biden, and mostly, anyone who thinks it’s ok to let this poor elderly man humiliate himself in his end years. He has more than served his country and deserves to enjoy his last years in a place where HE is taken care of - by loving caretakers or family. Instead, he is going to be remembered for his illness - which is what cognitive decline is. My heart is sad for this country. But my heart breaks for this wonderful man who has lived a life of public service.
